If we could use three words to describe possible migration to Australia we would borrow an old adage and put our own unique perspective on it. Rather than 'location, location, location', we would use the terminology 'research, research, research', and then, research some more. We have found that the vast majority of migrants who found it difficult to settle successfully in Australia did so for one reason, and one reason alone.
They never researched Australia and the Australians properly or thoroughly enough before their departure. It is true that the vast majority of migrants and expats did do some research, to an extent. But in the vast majority of cases this research was often skewed and came from the wrong perspective. We are not saying that this type of research isn't an invaluable aid in determining your future plans. Far from it. But what we are saying is simply this. Whilst you may of researched the so called 'bigger issues' such as accommodation, career paths, banking, schooling, etc, the so called 'peripheral' matters seem to go past unnoticed. And this is where migrants often let themselves down.
You deserve to be educated and informed to a degree that will enable you to move to the other side of the world with some degree of expert information that is far too often overlooked and ignored. Overlooked and ignored because to date these issues have been unaddressed by any relavent authority or body. Emigration Australia will arm you with such source material, and in so doing we think you will find your move to the other side of the world will be less stressful and worrying for all those concerned. |
